What Do We Do?

The Monday class is designed specifically to challenge 4-6yr olds. It’s only 45 minutes long and offers a gentle introduction to the dojo environment and karate related skills. We learn a few Japanese terms and customs, we learn some karate related skills and drills and we do a developmental circuit or similar activity every week to promote balance, agility, co-ordination and flexibility. We welcome parents/caregivers to join in with a shy child and make themselves available to help out!

Do we need a uniform?

It is part of the dojo culture to wear a traditional uniform.  The uniform is available to purchase from reception when you join. The cost is $65-75 depending on size. The uniform comes with a white belt.

Do the kids do gradings?

We don’t grade the Pee Wees in the Kyokushin system. We may do a simple skills based test with our older peewees around the same time we grade the older kids (mid year and year end) or we may suggest to you we reward excellent progress or ability with a new coloured belt at any stage. The cost for a Pee Wee grade is $25 including the belt. The belts help motivate the children who may be in the Pee Wee grade for up to two years.

Can we just try?
